Denise Reed is a loan officer at our Main Office on Front Street in Bath. She is a Midcoast Maine native, although she resided in South Carolina for a number of years, where she attended Bob Jones University and then worked in customer service as a membership director for the YMCA of the USA, before returning home to her roots to be closer to family.
Upon returning to Maine, Denise began a career as a paralegal and office manager at a general practice attorney’s office. She worked in the legal field for over 16 years, where she delved into all types of law, from personal injury to family to probate and real estate. In so doing, she discovered a passion for real estate and especially, title work. She eventually became a part-owner of a title company, where part of her job involved conducting real estate closings for both private transactions and for local banks. As one of First Federal’s closing agents, she developed a strong working relationship with both staff and customers, and when an opportunity surfaced to join the team at First Federal Savings, it was a smooth transition and came as anything but a surprise to the employees and customers alike.
Denise is a licensed mortgage loan officer and became a quick favorite amongst First Federal Savings employees and customers. She’s simply put an enjoyable person to be around and to have around. She works closely with customers to tailor loan solutions to their individualized needs and that’s becoming a primary strength and specialty of hers. With her foundation in real estate and title, she has a unique understanding of navigating the real estate process, in particular the parts that we find some customers feel are least familiar to them.
More than work experience, First Federal Savings loves to position people who have personal and life experiences that align with what our customers are looking to do. It’s great to manage or understand a process, it’s another thing to have extensive experience going through the process as a customer. Denise has that personal experience of building a home and the construction loan process, as long before she was an employee, she chose First Federal Savings to assist her family in building their home for the same reason you should – you’re never just a loan number and the friendly, attentive staff, remain available and transparent throughout the process, taking a personal interest in seeing your dreams come to fruition.
When she’s not crunching numbers, you will usually find Denise in a gym watching her children play sports or spending time on the Sheepscot Lake at her family’s camp.
