Derek is the branch manager and loan officer in our Wiscasset branch and joined the FFS family in March 2025.  A Texas native, Derek attended the University of Houston.  Thereafter, he entered the hospitality industry, working with an international hotel chain which brought him to Kansas, Colorado and Massachusetts and afforded him to travel to many places globally.

Derek began his banking career when moving to Maine in 2009.  He started with a local credit union as a management trainee. His time with the credit union gave him his banking base and an understanding of how banks are here to serve their customers.  He then went to work for a larger public bank.  Here he was able to broaden his scope to include mortgage lending and became licensed in wealth management.  His hospitality background has served him well in developing deep relationships with both business and personal clients.  He has always prided himself in the friendships he has forged through his business career.
